Screenings, Release, and the TARAs!

Gosh. It's been a while since you've heard from me, huh? I've been busy as an entire beehive mixing (then remixing, then remixing again, etc etc etc) this project, getting it juuust right. But now the time for waiting is over!

If you're reading this, that means that Soundscapes of Self is OUT! There are lots of ways that you can listen to it, either directly on the website through the Downloads page (where you can decide which mix is the best fit for you based on what listening equipment you're working with), or on any of the platforms it's been posted on. Our binaural mix (designed for headphones) and 5.1 surround sound mix are also available on YouTube, and the binaural mix also lives on our RSS feed and Spotify. Overkill? Probably. But this entire project has been such an incredible learning experience for me and the whole team, and I simply cannot give enough thanks to everyone who helped out along the way.

BUT WAIT! Before you go downloading, searching, and sharing, if you want to have the first time you listen to this project be in a truly immersive space (and you're free on April 11th or 12th) then come and visit the Rogers Communications Centre (where this project was mixed and recorded!) for one of the many SCREENINGS! Yes, finally! I've booked out the Immersive Studio and will be hosting several 10-person screenings on Friday 4/11 and Saturday 4/12. Luna and I also going to be submitting Soundscapes of Self to the TARA Awards! What are the TARAs, you may ask? They're essentially the Oscars of TMU's Media program (I actually already have one proudly displayed on my shelf for "Best First Year Audio Project" for my podcast Break Your Game) and they'll be held on April 10th, so those of you who come to the screenings can get the inside scoop on whether we win any.
