This project is my baby. My .wav file baby. My wavy.

As time goes on you'll see more faces pop up on here as I get more folks involved in putting this project together.

Where this whole thing came from
I've been interested in trans issues since I was an in-denial-hyper-trans-ally as a young teenager, and have cultivated a love for sound and documentary throughout my time in university. I also have a unique relationship with my own voice, having done choir all through middle and high school and then having to entirely relearn singing and speaking with a new voice after going on testosterone in 2020. As I've become more active in the trans community and developed an interest in psychology and linguistics, I've learned so many interesting things about how the way that we speak affects how people gender us, and when third year rolled around and we were told to start thinking of ideas for our practicum thesis productions, I knew that this was my chance to get to explore that arena and share some of the incredible stories I've come across. The response to this project, even when it existed only as a pitch, has been immensely exciting. I've got lots of work to do, but I've never been so excited to get working!
Luna Larocque
She/Her - Assistant Director
Hey everybody, my name is Luna and I'm a fourth year student in media production! I started my transition in April of 2023, and I'm super excited to be working on a project that I have a personal connection with! I came to TMU to hone my audio skills, and I've worked on a number of projects over the years, most notably a screamo band called Please Don't Crash (I played lead guitar)!! I'm also super interested in video games and am an active player of fighting games like Guilty Gear Strive!

I loved drawing and visual arts for all of my life and came to TMU to improve on these skills and find similar-minded people! This is my first time working on any kind of project that can help and educate people :D"
